Cordero is the embodied dream of Esteban Cordero, an Italian immigrant who in 1948, after having been trained as a designer at the Italian Aeronautics, landed in Argentina with determination.
He started as a toolmaker for third parties and in 1968 he tried his luck: he approached FIAT and asked to work for them. The car manufacturer put his skills to the test and gave him a part that was practically impossible to develop. In 48 hours Esteban Cordero had even manufactured a batch of the part, which quickly won their trust.
He made the 100% of the hinges, pedals and gear shifts for all the FIAT 600, 1500, 125, 125 pick up, 128, 133, Spazio, Uno, Regatta and Duna, as well as for the Peugeot 504, 505 and 504 pick up that were produced in Argentina. His inventiveness was the engine of the company’s growth and the trademark that differentiates us today.
Cordero is likewise an SME that is constantly evolving, where through each of our processes we intend to offer innovative and high-quality solutions to the challenges and demands of the market.

Go the extra mile, expand the horizon, open new paths, leave a mark, transcend. That is the commitment and motivation shared by each one of us who make Cordero day by day.
We are an SME where the family and work blend together. We develop our activities in a sustainable way, with a long term vision, and that is why we establish our own goals in the following areas: Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Social Investment and Energy Use.
Our goal is to be a triple impact company.
We launched this initiative in 2016 based on the belief that companies have a central role and responsibility as agents of change on the road to a more inclusive society.
We now have 18 people with intellectual disabilities as part of our team, who work in areas such as logistics and production, alongside their colleagues.
We also have a network of specialists who assist the participants of the program and their families.
We foster people’s development by investing in education. We host technical students to carry out their paid professional internships, we incorporate university students as interns to gain professional work experience. We lend our facilities to two Vocational Training Centers to offer technical courses. We welcome educational institutions to conduct visits and training for their proposed curricula. We give talks and workshops at schools and universities…
We take care of the environment according to the best international practices. Our main efforts are focused on the efficient use of energy, the incorporation of renewable energies and the reduction of our carbon footprint. That is why every year we carry out an Energy Review, accompanied by Metering 4.0 technology…
In 2021 we made the decision to recruit women into the production area to change the industry’s paradigm. Today we have 35 women in the assembly, projection and robotic welding, maintenance and quality sectors. It has been a very positive and enriching experience.
We want to keep increasing this number every day.

At Cordero we believe that education is the driving force for change, and that is why we open our doors to the community.
We take care of the environment according to the best international practices. Our main efforts are focused on the efficient use of energy, the incorporation of renewable energies and the reduction of our carbon footprint. That is why every year we carry out an Energy Review, accompanied by Metering 4.0 technology.
In 2022 we incorporated photovoltaic panels to our plants and reduced our carbon footprint by 3.2%.
By 2023 we aim to replace 60% of our daily electricity consumption with the installation of more panels, collaborating with the stability of the Luján district’s electricity system.
