Comunidad CORDERO: 10 Years Building Inclusion

Ten years ago, we asked ourselves a simple question: why not? That's how Comunidad CORDERO was born, an initiative that reflects a conviction at the core of how we do business: inclusion is built every day, through opportunities, support, and shared work.

Comunidad CORDERO is a community where everyone has something to contribute

What began as a single initiative eventually grew into a program, now consolidated under the Supported Employment model and embedded in the way we work.

Today, 21 people with disabilities are part of Comunidad CORDERO, building their own paths within our company and contributing, each in their own way, to our community.

Today we want to open our doors and share with you what we do, how we do it, and some of what we've learned over these 10 years.

  • Education

Convinced that education is the engine of development and a fundamental pillar for the growth of the industrial sector, we open our doors to students—creating learning spaces that connect academic knowledge with real-world production.

For over 15 years, we have offered university internships, and since 2016, more than 100 students from technical schools have completed their training at CORDERO. We also provide our facilities to two Vocational Training Centers to deliver skilled trade courses.

Our commitment extends to complementary activities such as educational talks and plant visits, giving students from various levels the opportunity to experience industrial processes firsthand and gain practical knowledge.

  • Environment

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact through the efficient use of resources and the implementation of innovative solutions in our processes. Our focus is on lowering emissions, optimizing energy consumption, and integrating renewable energy sources, taking concrete steps toward a more sustainable production model.

Each year, we conduct an Energy Review supported by 4.0 Measurement Technology, allowing us to monitor our performance in real time and continuously improve our efficiency.

We operate a Photovoltaic Solar Park that supplies 60% of the installed energy capacity at our plant, and we are proud to be the first renewable energy generating user in Luján—contributing clean energy to the local power grid.

  • Women on the shop floor

In 2021, we made history in our industry by incorporating women into the production area, driving a paradigm shift. Today, 35 women are part of our assembly, projection and robotic welding, maintenance, and quality departments—bringing their talent and perspective to enrich our operations.

At CORDERO, we foster an environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow, regardless of gender. Aware that the metalworking sector has been historically male-dominated, we are actively working to create more space and opportunities for women.

This transformation not only strengthens the attraction of diverse talent in the industry but has also positively impacted our organizational culture—promoting diverse thinking, innovation, and a more collaborative work environment.

  • CORDERO Community

In 2016, we launched this initiative with the firm belief that each person brings value through their unique abilities. Since then, we have maintained a strong commitment to inclusion by welcoming people with disabilities into our team and fostering an accessible, barrier-free organizational culture.

Today, 19 individuals actively contribute their talents in areas such as logistics and production, helping us meet the challenges of our industry. We believe that work is a powerful driver of autonomy and growth—a key tool to empower people and enhance their potential.

Together with an interdisciplinary network of specialists, we are working toward a model where 100% of our positions are inclusive, ensuring equal opportunities for the growth and development of every person.

  • Women in the Plant

In 2021, we marked a milestone in our industry by bringing women into the production area, driving a paradigm shift. Today, women are part of sectors such as assembly, projection and robotic welding, maintenance, and quality, contributing their talent and perspective to enrich our operations.

At CORDERO, we foster an environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop, regardless of gender. Aware that the metalworking sector has historically been made up of men, we actively work to open up more spaces and opportunities for women. We have already adapted 72% of our production positions with accessibility and inclusion criteria, moving toward the goal of making 100% of them inclusive.

This transformation not only strengthens the attraction of diverse talent in the sector, but has also positively impacted our organizational culture, driving diversity of thought, innovation, and a more collaborative work environment.

  • Education

We foster people’s development by investing in education. We host technical students to carry out their paid professional internships, we incorporate university students as interns to gain professional work experience. We lend our facilities to two Vocational Training Centers to offer technical courses.

We welcome educational institutions to conduct visits and training for their proposed curricula. We give talks and workshops at schools and universities.

At Cordero we believe that education is the driving force for change, and that is why we open our doors to the community.

  • The Enviroment

We take care of the environment according to the best international practices. Our main efforts are focused on the efficient use of energy, the incorporation of renewable energies and the reduction of our carbon footprint. That is why every year we carry out an Energy Review, accompanied by Metering 4.0 technology.

In 2022 we incorporated photovoltaic panels to our plants and reduced our carbon footprint by 3.2%.

By 2023 we aim to replace 60% of our daily electricity consumption with the installation of more panels, collaborating with the stability of the Luján district’s electricity system.

  • Environment

At CORDERO, we take on environmental responsibility as part of our daily work: producing better, caring for resources, and reducing our impact. We are working toward carbon neutrality by 2030..

Our strategy combines energy efficiency, the incorporation of renewable energy, and emissions reduction. With our two photovoltaic solar parks in operation, we now generate 528,000 kWh of renewable energy per year —around 30% of our total consumption— and avoid the emission of 127 tons of CO₂ annually, equivalent to the absorption of 14,700 trees per year..

During 2025, we reduced our energy consumption by 7.1%, , water consumption by 2.5%, and waste generation by 12.5%, reaffirming that #EveryActionCounts on the path toward a more sustainable production model.

  • Education

In 2025, we took a further step with the launch of Potenciá Tu Talento, a free training program for young people in Luján. Our commitment also extends to educational talks and plant visits, where hundreds of students of different levels each year experience industrial processes firsthand and gain practical knowledge.
